After the French did overthrow the state from Japanese, monopolized the (on the 9^th March 1945), Central Committee of the Party did give instruction “Japanese fight against French and our actions”. Receiving this instruction, the Thanh Hoa provincial party committee hold a preparation meeting for uprising. The meeting did decide to raise up the slogan “To drive Japanese fascists away”, expanded the revolutionary bases, developed the guerilla and militia units, establish the Japanese fascist-resisted bases and came to seize power. Everywhere in the province, Japanese-resisted movements took place noisily. Japanese fascists and agents were extremely panic. They did frenetically repress the revolutionary movements in some places. One of which is Hoang Hoa.  

On the 24^th July 1945, Japanese fascists and the puppet government did send one provincial guard unit in cooperation with county chief Pham Trong Bao to repress in Dang Trung (Hoang Dao commune) and Lien Chau-Hoa Loc (Hoang Chau commune), hunt down Viet Minh officers and repress the revolutionary movements in the district. After considering the situation, the party cell and the district Viet Minh Committee did prepare the action plan of the guerilla and militia units and evacuated the old and children in these two places in the night of 23^rd July 1945.    

As the consideration of the party cell and provincial Viet Minh committee, in the early morning of 24^th July 1945, the enemy troop did march forwards Hoang Chau and Hoang Dao. When the unit head by county chief Pham Trong Bao arrived Ma Nhon dune, they fell into an ambush of the Dang Trung’s self-defense forces. Being attached unpredictably, the troop could not resist. 12 soldiers and county chief Pham Trong Bao were arrested. 13 guns were confiscated.     

Under the lead of the party cell and district Viet Minh committee, thousands of people did attend the meeting at Ba Cay dune in the strong and moving drum-beat and the celebration of the victory. Only in the morning of the 24^th July 1945, the uprising for seizing power in Hoang Hoa was completely successful, power to the people.

 The uprising in Hoang Hoa on the 24^th July 1945 became an important event not only for Thanh Hoa, but also made contribution to the creation of a great landmark in the cause for national liberation.
