Currently, there are one provincial museum, 8 museums, traditional houses, and traditional rooms at the district level, 17 traditional rooms at the communal level or of different sectors, and one private museum in . The provincial museum is now keeping over thirty thousand artifacts including many unique and precious collections such as collections of bronze drums type I, type II, and bronze pots from Đông Sơn Culture etc.

In order to “bring the museum closer to the public”, the Thanh Hóa Provincial Museum has built a traveling exhibition called Thanh Hóa in the career of building and defending the country and brought it to some localities in the province. The Museum has been in collaboration with national and local museums to organize thematic exhibitions, which enables multiple users to access cultural heritage.

In addition, the museum staff has participated in conferences and scientific seminars and written articles and books about the museum’s activities. This work has contributed to raise the people’s awareness of local cultural heritage preservation.

Along with the aforementioned activities, the construction, revising, and upgrading the Museum’s building and Traditional House were invested with much concern by the local authorities and sectors at all levels.

One of the works of socializing museum activities that Thanh Hóa have done effectively is the establishment of private museums and the collaboration between the State museums and collectors and private museums in organizing exhibitions for the preservation and promotion of the national cultural heritage values.

Socialization of museum activities is an indispensable development direction. On the basis of the above solutions, this fact has required new feasible solutions in order to expedite the process of socializing museum activities in Thanh Hóa to a new height.
