In July 2014, Thanh Hoa museum did collect more than 30 unique, valuable and rare artifacts in which three ceramics (including two lamp-stands and one incense burner) date back to Le So period, fifteenth-sixteenth centuries.

The first lamp-stand

17cm in height, 10.5cm in ring pedestal diameter. Cylinder shape, small neck, downward shoulder. The body is wider at upper part and narrower to the pedestal. The pedestal is 4.2cm in height. The lamp-stand is coasted with blue and white glaze. The shoulder got decorated with a double-lotus leaf band. The lower part got two decorative bands. The first band is festoon. The second one is stylized double-lotus leaf band. The leaf-points face upward. Each leaf got spiral pattern inside. The foot has stylized lemon flower motif and double lotus-leaf pattern and the leaf-point facing downward.    

The second lamp-stand

15.5cm in height, 4.4cm in mouth diameter and 7.6cm in ring pedestal diameter, cylinder shape. The body is wider at upper part and narrower to the pedestal. Edge of the rim is rounded, short neck, downward shoulder and short pedestal. The shoulder got decorated with “haft-concentric-cereal grain” motif. Middle part of the body has “daisy chain” motif. The pedestal-closed part is decorated with stylized double-lotus leaf band. The leaf-point face upward. Each leaf got spiral pattern inside.   

The incense burner: Being coated with blue and white glaze. 11.7cm in mouth diameter, 11.7cm in pedestal diameter, 16.5cm in height. Slightly flared rim, the edge of rim is flat. Two symmetrically-arranged handles are attached to the shoulder and higher than rim. Spherical body, narrow bottom and flaring pedestal. Both the edge of rim and neck have blue line. The shoulder got relief lotus-leaf band holding mouth and neck. The body has “daisy chain” motif. The pedestal-closed part is decorated with stylized double-lotus leaf band.    

These artifacts are quite unique, holding typical features of Le-Mac ceramics, adding up to the content of 10 century to middle fifteen century exhibition room in Thanh Hoa museum. In addition, this is valuable resource for studying Vietnamese ceramics.
