The Thanh Hóa Provincial Museum belongs to the system of museums in Việt Nam. It has became one of the provincial centers of culture and science and a favorite destination of numerous domestic and foreign tourists.

Its collections of typical original objects supported by scientific documents are displayed into themes, which provide visitors with the most general understandings about the process of establishment and development of the Thanh area – the sacred land of outstanding people.

One of the core exhibitions at the Museum is the one about Đông Sơn Culture. Visitors will understand about the origin of this culture as well as the occurrence and development of metallurgical and bronze casting techniques.

The thematic exhibit Artifacts in Thanh Area introduces about precious national antiques and treasures. People will find unique collections of objects that are diverse in material and forms in this exhibition.

The thematic gallery Bronze Drums in Thanh Hóa is the only gallery in the whole country that is reserved for displaying bronze drums. Bronze drums are typical antiques of Đông Sơn Culture, a symbol of the ancient civilization of Việt Nam, and are considered as unique and wonderful antiques in the world.

The exhibition Thanh Hóa’s Tradition of Patriotism and Revolution (period 1858 – 1945) and the gallery Thanh Hóa in the Cause of Building and Defending the Fatherland (period 1945 – 1975) introduce historical documents, objects, and material evidence that reflect the process of resilient revolutionary struggles of the elder generations and of the people and the People's Party in Thanh Hóa Province. The major contribution of manpower and havings by the ethnic peoples in Thanh Hóa in two resistance wars against the French colonialism and the American imperialism together with the contribution and sacrifice of the people in all over the country made the historical victory of Điện Biên Phủ that was world-shaking and famous all over five continents and the Great Victory in Spring 1975.\
