This is a temple of literature at the prefectural level, which was built by the
Nguyễn Dynasty for the purpose of giving prominence to Confucianism.
In the , Confucius, the founder of
Confucianism and 72 ancient sages (excellent students of Confucius) are
worshipped. At the same time, the graduates of pre-court
competition-examinations of
are honored there.
During the destruction
war done by the
imperialist, the in Thanh
Hoá was severely destroyed. Its construction was broken except vestige of the
foundation, walls, stairs, and such artefacts as stone steles, blocks as column
footing, stone troughs, supports for parasols and flags etc.
For almost 200 years of existence on the ancient
land Đông Sơn – Hàm Rồng, the in Thanh
Hóa was always Thanh Hóa people’s proud of their tradition of learning and
moral standard appreciation.
