Confering Diplomas could appear in fifteenth century, Le dynasty, confirmed by King’s seal, bearing state’s confirmation and showing court power to villages. Together with the other historical records, such as : royal proclamations, royal decrees, inscriptions, family annals…confering diploma is considered as one type of legal offical documents of feudal states.
The Thanh Area is not only the land of Đông Anh folk songs, Vietnamese classical drama (tuồng), or traditional operetta (chèo) but also the cradle of the famous Mã River chanty that is famous all over the country.
In the past years, Thanh Hóa Museum has focused on doing research and collecting materials and artifacts of Đông Sơn Culture. We have collaborated with the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities under the Vietnam National University to organize a number of archaeological excavations in such sites of Đông Sơn Culture as Đông Sơn, Thiệu Dương, Vực Thượng, Bản Khạt, Núi Sen etc. We have also constantly collected thousands of precious objects, which has helped to enrich our storage and serve the work of exhibition and communication.
Thanh Hóa is proud to be the first place where bronze drums of Đông Sơn Culture were discovered. The Thanh Hóa Provincial Museum is currently displaying and storing 136 bronze drums of all types, of which there are many typical, rare, and precious ones.
